Adobe Lightroom is the tool of choice for many photographers. If you are a serious photojournalist, it is also a tool that you can use to develop your photography. The features in Lightroom and the ease of using it to edit your images make it a very useful piece of software for many people.
In some ways, it is similar to photo editing programs such as Photoshop. For example, you can put multiple photos into a single project. You can also work on them separately. However, if you’re a professional photographer, you may want to find the features more suited to your needs.
If you have less time and are pressed for time, you may want to look at the other tools in Lightroom to make sure that they fit into your budget. As an example, let’s take a look at the two basic editing options available in Lightroom.
To begin with, let’s start with the default camera screen, which is where the usual controls that come with every editable photograph are displayed. The first editing option you will want to check is called White Balance.
The White Balance option allows you to set the colour temperature and exposure level for each of the photos you have chosen. In order to do this, you will need to click on the colour slider at the top of the list.
Next up, you can do things such as change the display settings for the skin tone and teeth. Of course, you may not want to do this yourself if you know that it will affect your photos negatively.
Editing by other means is a third option in Lightroom. While you may be looking for the features that will best suit your needs, you may find that there are more features than you realize.
For example, there is a new option called Lens Distortion Correction. This is a very simple method of reducing flare and distortion by adjusting the length of the lens and the radius of the curvature.
For a professional photographer, this is one of the more common features. If you are someone who does not like to mess around with lens settings, then this feature may not appeal to you.
The final option, you will want to check is the latest enhancement in the Lightroom interface. The Auto White Balance option is useful for those times when you are photographing indoors without lighting and you are trying to get the same effect without the hassle of turning the lights on.
This feature allows you to automatically adjust the white balance of all the photos in your document without any special controls. It is great for making sure that you’re getting the effect you want, without wasting time manually adjusting settings.
