Inbound Marketing – Creating a Better Search Engine Optimization Campaign

Inbound marketing is becoming a very big trend in the online industry. It’s simply a term used to describe any sales promotion that utilizes your business and/or services to bring more customers to your website. When it comes to SEO, an inbound marketing strategy is simply an outside marketing method, which is focused on promoting your business and in particular your products and services through search engine optimization.

In general, inbound marketing is becoming more popular because SEO has helped people find businesses in other countries for the first time. This has been an advantage for companies with an online presence.

Although it’s possible to generate inbound marketing without SEO, most entrepreneurs do opt for SEO if they want to maximize the results of their marketing efforts. To create a business-focused campaign, it’s best to incorporate a number of different methods. Let’s take a look at some of the techniques used in successful campaigns:

It’s important to conduct keyword research and use keyword density. The goal of this research is to find out what people type into Google in relation to the words you are targeting.

This information is then condensed into content. If this content is good, it will be indexed by the search engines, which will help direct traffic to your site.

Link building is one of the most effective inbound marketing methods. When this is done, a link to your site from another site, as well as other sites that have similar keywords, will be posted to your website. This will draw links from other websites to your own site, and the more links your website has, the better your position in the search engines.

Increased traffic is only half the battle. You’ll also need to optimize your website to have the best ranking possible.

Pay per click (PPC) is another method of optimizing your website to bring in the right kind of traffic, while making sure that the advertising campaigns are successful. PPC can be either paid or non-paid, and it depends on whether or not you want to spend money or your budget to create a PPC campaign.

In order to begin a PPC campaign, you need to set up a website and a Google AdWords account. There are many tools that allow you to customize ads.

Once you have your account’s setup, you need to advertise on the PPC websites. It’s best to put up a campaign at least once a month so that your ads can be seen.

Inbound marketing is an integral part of marketing in the competitive online industry. With the right strategy and the right tools, it can get your business found by the millions of people worldwide who are searching for businesses and services to support their lifestyle.

Search Engine optimization history

A Brief History of SEO

What is the history of search engines and SEO?

Let’s take a short journey through time to understand how SEO has changed and how it got to what it’s now. The history of SEO is truly amazing to understand.

The Prehistory of the Web

When the Internet first appeared, there were no search engines. The number of websites was relatively small and we were really in the infancy of what the Web is today. So, for a site to be in any index, you just had to… get him indexed!

The process was relatively simple: you would put your site somewhere, and it would be on a big list. It was the ancestor of the directories that we find today, and it was quite difficult to find a specific site, without knowing its URL.

The robot’s work was super simple, they were submitted to a site, they browsed it, and refreshed the index created. Organic research was therefore virtually impossible, and this had to be remedied with a novelty: the first meta tags.

History of SEO

The appearance of the first meta tag tags

What is a tag? Just a keyword (and also a huge milestone in SEO history)! To specify the subject of a page to the robots that browse the web, we simply insert a tag to indicate what will be found in it as content. It must be said that at that time, the robots did not understand anything about the texts they found, so it was necessary to enter in this tag a string of characters that, in principle, will be understood by Internet users.

The beginnings of the Black Hat

The introduction of the first meta tags, and their use to classify sites, was the beginning of the Black-hat. A Black Hat webmaster is a person who will use all the means at his disposal to push a site in search results by breaking the instructions given by indexers or early search engines (sometimes even by breaking the law). The spectrum is wide, and anyone may appreciate differently the morality of any possible practice. Black-hat was critical in the development and history of search engines.

The introduction of the first meta tags, it was, therefore, the birth of the stuffing that we will meet massively for about ten years. The meta-keyword tag just came out? Okay, we’re going to fill it in.” The meta-description was just implemented? OK, we’re going to fill it in. Not necessarily in honest mode, but rather in “aggressive” mode. It was the birth of the keyword stuffing.

And so, inevitably, faced with the abuses of some webmasters, we had to find a new method to manage all this …

History of SEO – The Birth of Page Rank

In 1996, Larry Page and Sergey Brin created a search engine called Backrub. This event marked the history of search engines that we know today. The principle is quite simple: if a website is relevant, then it will receive many links from other sites. And, if it is relevant, it deserves to be ranked higher than the others. The page rank algorithm assigns a note to the pages, and this note will be used to classify them on given queries.

It is important to understand that this behavior is the foundation of Google. If what matters most is the number of backlinks, then to push a page higher in rankings, it was enough to create another page (or better, many other pages) with a link that points to the page we want to promote.

And that’s it, it was played: Web spam was born. And all that’s going to follow is a long war between Google and SEO!

A Brief History of SEO 2

Refining algorithms

Using the number of links as a database of site rankings, Google shot itself in the foot. The web market is growing, economic interests are growing, and as a result, many webmasters are adopting aggressive strategies to make money through their sites. This was the birth of link farms (poor quality pages containing only links), the use of “free” site templates with links stashed everywhere, etc.

Consequences: Search results degrade, and Google needed to react.

Understanding web pages

Google responds by creating new algorithms and filters. Primarily, Google was focused on creating intelligent robots, which will “understand” the meaning of a page by analyzing the words found there and weighting them with HTML markers (title tag, H1 tag, link anchors, etc.). This approach would later lead to the birth of algorithm updates such as Panda and Hummingbird.

Inevitably, the solution to ranking higher was to do keyword stuffing: we fill the page and the sites with keywords (plumber NY, plumber LA, plumber Miami, etc. It’s ugly, it’s a bad experience for the reader, but it works…

Creating profiles on many websites

Faced with the proliferation of link farms, and in the face of the semantic degeneration of web pages, Google refines its strategy, trying to detect a footprint on the sites it crawls. This footprint, as the name suggests, is a marker that will highlight recurring patterns and will help to remove spam.

Among the new algorithms were that implemented Dominic was one of the most important. This changed the way links are counted. Cassandra another update identified domain owners and detects hidden texts (white texts on white backgrounds for example, cloaking by identification of the user-agent, etc.).

The 2000s and Spam

In the 2000s, the war against spam was raging (identifying keyword stuffing, meta-tag stuffing, taking into account the anchor text for links, identifying site networks). Google multiplies and complicates its algorithms to remove spam pages from its index. The work of the Webspam-team is long, complex, and in addition to algorithmic, manual checks are also carried out.

Why this fight against spam? Simply because Google protects its market. This point is very important in the understanding of the search market today: Google is a capitalist company. Like all companies, Google is looking for profit. And its main product is organic search. On top of that, we can find Adwords, which is now a gigantic financial empire.

If the search results are poor, users will turn to another engine, and therefore, will not be able to click on the Adwords. So the quality and relevancy of search results are key for Google. Protecting search results, for Google, is simply a way to protect the $46 billion in revenue that this generates each year…

Optimizing indexing and results

Subsequently, Google will work on the speed of indexing pages and personalizing search results, in a logic of customer loyalty. A series of algorithms and new practices are emerging: massive indexing, Latent Semantic Indexing, creation of Sitemap.xml, personalized research, the goal of the game is to propose the most relevant results possible, indexed as quickly as possible.

Efforts pay off, and Google quickly confirms its market leadership position. And then, in 2009, new drama surfaces…

2009 brings new problems

In 2009, Google’s indexing model is running out of steam. Robots struggle to navigate all of the pages they find. This happens mostly becasue of the many spam sites, whose only reason was to improve the ranking of “money-sites” (window sites, sites paid through advertising, e-commerce sites, etc.)

It must be said that spammers have adapted particularly well to Google’s new filters, significantly increasing the quality of their work: the countries of Eastern Europe, South-East Asia, and China are particularly used by Western companies for optimization services as can be clearly seen in our SEO history.

As a result, the number of spam websites explodes, and Google starts to get overwhelmed. Indexing and classifying the Web, at a time when China is making copy-sites costs money in electricity, and puts big loads on the servers! The new linking methods of the time were very aggressive, giving search engines a lot more work.

The answer is an infrastructure overhaul called Caffeine (Google never chooses the names of its algorithms by chance).

The pre-release of Caffeine in 2009 heralds a new era. Spam risks bringing its indexing capabilities to its knees and Google decides to go the extra mile to eradicate this practice: Panda and Penguin are in the pipes…

The fundamental problem of SEO in 2015

Let’s recap our SEO history up to this point: To rank a page, Google needs to understand what it’s all about. Otherwise, it will not be able to compete with other optimized pages on the same query. That’s all the semantic comprehension work of the algorithm.

But then, how did it establish rankings?

This is oversimplifying, but this is nonetheless the essence of SEO.

Search engine robots roam sites through links. So the more links you have (be careful, good links), the more likely it is that Google bots will crawl your website. The problem of search engines today is mainly to sort between the “real” and “spam” links… The fight continues with the release of Panda, Penguin, and the other algorithm updates we’ve seen since 2010.

2020’s Google Zoo (conclusion)

Since 2010, the giant of Moutain View has released a real Algorithm Zoo: Panda, Penguin, Hummingbird, Pigeon, etc.

Panda and Penguin were only set up to counter spam sites that are poorly edited. If Google will issue electronic certificates to identify site editors, we’ll be done with spam. But until then, SEO remains the most important tactic for ranking purposes. SEO is not dead!

The history of SEO is ultimately a fight between Google and SEO.

What is SEO? – Keyword Research

Search engine optimization (SEO) is about discovering new keywords that will help people find your website and how to position your website in the SERPs (search engine results pages). Search engine optimization works best for sites that have a broad appeal. This means that most people would likely not bother to look through a site that only has high page ranks for a limited number of keywords.

What happens when you use keyword research for SEO? Let’s say you are trying to get people to visit your site via the search engines. If your website is optimized for one particular keyword, you need to make sure that you are using all of the keywords that can be used with that keyword. You also need to use keywords that will help bring traffic from the search engines, which is an important aspect of search engine optimization.

Now, keywords for SEO are just some of the words or phrases that are most likely to be searched for on a given day. To determine keywords, start with the current season and think about how much time people spend searching for certain products and services. If it takes them time to find the right place to shop, it is unlikely that they are going to choose a specific store or service. Instead, they are more likely to search for that keyword and find a whole bunch of websites offering the same product or service.

There are a few big tools that you can use for keyword research. The first tool that you can use is the Google Keyword Tool. This tool will allow you to enter a number of different keywords and will generate a list of the top 10,000 results for those keywords, along with their link in the text.

This tool can be extremely useful if you want to check the popularity of your keywords in the search engines. This can be especially helpful if you want to get some free competitive rankings in the search engines for your niche. It can also help you gain a better understanding of the number of sites which are connected to your keywords.

A third tool you can use for SEO is the webmaster tools. These tools are often referred to as keyword generators. It will tell you the approximate number of times that particular keyword is being searched.

Another easy way to learn more about what other people are doing with a certain keyword is to use a keyword tool like WPMU. They are great if you want to learn more about what keywords are being used by various publishers, blogs, forums, etc.

So now that you know a little bit about what goes into keyword research, it is time to see how you can use this knowledge. For SEO, you will want to do keyword research with a few different tools at once, but you should always stick with a broad strategy of ensuring that your site has the widest distribution possible. This is key because the more visitors to your site, the more opportunity there is for your site to rank higher in the SERPs.

Once you know what your competition is doing, you can begin your keyword research on Google. The best way to use the keyword tool is to enter some keywords and then look at the number of times each keyword is being searched. Since Google keeps track of these trends, this is a great way to find out where the interest in your niche lies.

The trick here is to find a way to make your site look unique to your website owner, so that they don’t forget what makes your site special. Using the SEO niche of website owner marketing will help you do just that. By using these techniques, you can create a real person-to-person relationship with your website owner and can do a lot to ensure that your site is recognized by Google, which will result in a higher chance of your site ranking higher in the SERPs.

Finally, it should be pointed out that SEO is something that can be mastered over time, if you do it the right way. The more you practice, the better you will become at making the right decisions and making the right connections. When you can create a foundation, it won’t take long to get started.

What is SEO Link Building?

To be sure you know what SEO stands for, it is short for Search Engine Optimization. Basically, the Search Engine Optimization or SEO strategy aims to get more hits for your website by positioning it on the top 10 search results page of any search engine. In a nutshell, this strategy requires the placement of keywords or key words in your website which helps the search engines to understand what it is that people are looking for in the market and what content they need.

So, the good news is that with Search Engine Optimization, you are guaranteed higher traffic on your website. The key is in creating an effective link strategy. This is a very important part of SEO and all companies should include link building as part of their SEO strategy.

What happens is that when you link to other websites, the links will be penalized. Because search engines penalize a site for its link position. So, you must remember that a search engine ranking is not about a company ranking first, it is about the number of links a site has placed on other sites. So, to stay safe in the search engines and help the SEO campaign progress, you should ensure that you have good links to your website in the first place.

Before you start linking out and link building, you need to assess your page in the first place. See if you are building links from your website or from sites you already own.

You can easily find out which PPC advertising programs are the best in terms of Google and Yahoo PPC advertising. Also, you should consider how you want to link to your competitor. This can help you rank higher in the search engines as well.

Some people take their SEO link building strategy online, hoping to make lots of money. They put up ads on various sites like EzineArticles, Press Releases and by submitting to the internet news aggregators.

But, these methods may not work so well for you as well as make you waste a lot of time. Because, if you do not get the traffic to your website, there will be nothing left to spend your money on.

In other words, you need to ensure that your link building strategies are not only about getting the links but the content as well. For the better SEO, you should ensure that your content is of the same quality as what you are trying to get into the hands of the consumers.

You can check out the consumer opinion of your competitors to get an idea about what consumers prefer. Try to submit articles which can give them some useful information as well as help them solve problems.

Don’t forget that all articles should have keywords at the bottom as well as information at the end as well. As an SEO tip, you should also link to articles of other website where you can obtain relevant information.

In fact, you should always ensure that your articles link back to your website, just to prove that your article will not be removed or filtered. If you fail to provide high quality content to the readers, they will simply move on to other websites where you can produce high quality information as well.
